Stephen is the founding principal and creative director of Stephen Loges Graphic Design. Within the wide spectrum of disciplines the profession encompasses, Stephen has been solving clients’ communication problems for more than 25 years.
Prior to establishing Stephen Loges Graphic Design in 1990, Stephen was an associate at Chermayeff & Geismar Associates, New York, which he joined in 1983. During his seven years with the firm he contributed to a broad range of assignments from corporate and brand identities to packaging and environmental graphics. Stephen was senior designer on numerous identity projects including The Dime Savings Bank of New York, Filene’s, The Katonah Museum of Art, Natural Resources Defense Council, Scripps Howard, Tempozan Marketplace (Osaka), Tokio Marine Insurance, and Towers Perrin, among others, and was responsible for a variety of print communications including annual reports and corporate profile brochures for such clients as Greenwich Associates, Philip Morris, and Scripps Howard.
Stephen began his career in 1975 with Danne & Blackburn, New York, and as a senior designer until 1983, made major contributions to the award-winning NASA identity program and the Champion International identity. His assignments also included annual reports for such clients as ADT, Bristol-Myers, and Hammermill Papers; various print communications for IBM; posters for Mobil; and packaging for GAF.
Stephen graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in graphic design from the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture and Art, and has studied at the School of Visual Arts, New York, and in Florence, Italy, in a program sponsored by Kent State University.
Stephen’s work has been recognized in various design competitions and has appeared in a numerous publications. A founding member of the New York Chapter of The American Institute of Graphic Arts, Stephen has served the AIGA New York chapter as both a vice president and as a consultant on publicity.
